Synopsis
An exclusive in-depth investigation into the wild and secret world of commodity traders. For the first time, this documentary unveils the inner workings of global commodity trading, with its major economic, political and food issues at stake. It also reveals the daily work of those who are its main players and remain unknown to the public: commodity traders, who buy, transport, and sell the goods again. From African cotton plantations to the port of Hong Kong, from Brazilian soybean fields to the Chicago Board of Trade via the Santos harbour, this wide-ranging investigation over four continents ventures into the heart of the massive international trade for commodities – a trade run by a very old corporation who made secrecy a basic rule and which has become the object of many fantasies.
